An author blogging – what a novel concept. Ha! See what I did there?

Hello my lovelies!

Happy January! Wait – is that a thing? Like, do people get happy about a month like January? Probably not. Let’s pretend I opened with something much cooler than that.

Okay, glad we got that out of the way.

So, welcome to my first “official” author blog and thanks for checking out my brand new website. That’s super cool of you. I bet you look pretty today too. And, have you lost weight? Nice job; high five!

These days I’m working on so much, I have no idea where to begin, so I’ll just get right to it. After pouring my unemployed heart out into my debut novel Love & Other Chaos, I couldn’t wait to start writing again – and so I did. I’m also up to my elbows trying to figure out how to market and promote the book. It’s a lot of work and a learning process, but the whole experience has been life changing for me. Mostly though, I simply loved telling Cara and Brody’s story and bringing the Amos family to life. And, I have to keep writing because there are so many more stories that need to leave my frazzled brain and make their way onto the page. Not to sound cheesy, but it feels like this is what I was supposed to be doing all my life. I’ve always found writing in school and in the corporate world to be enjoyable and something that comes naturally to me. I’ve also always been really weird with a creative streak a mile long. Plus, I’m a sap for a good love story and despite my own follies in love, I firmly believe that love conquers all. Eventually. So becoming a romance novelist just made perfect sense for me once Covid-19 closed the world and we all had to become hermits. Regardless of the reason though, I’m loving the new direction I’m taking with my life and so excited to see what comes next.

The feedback I’ve gotten from my readers on Love & Other Chaos has been incredible. When I read a new review sometimes my eyes do this weird thing where they start to release a clear fluid. Super strange how that happens, but I’m doing my best to cope.

Looking ahead, I should be releasing my second Love and Laughs novel called, Love & Other Mistakes, in late January or early February. I don’t want to give away too much, but let’s just say the Amos family is back and the crazy times have only just begun! This story focuses on a new couple, whom you’ve already met individually in the first story. They have a steamy one night stand and then plan to go their separate ways. But, fate has other plans – especially when they are forced to work together to pull off Brody and Cara’s wedding related festivities. Oh, and there is a centaur because that makes perfect sense.

Anyways – thanks again for stopping by and I look forward to taking you on this journey with me. Until next time, keep your nose in a book and out of trouble.

Much love and sloppy margarita kisses,
Jackie
