Unexpected Heroine & Unexpected Redemption – Content Warnings
Hello lovely readers!
Out of respect and love for my readers, I’m offering the following brief summary of content that some readers may wish to know about before reading Unexpected Heroine & Unexpected Redemption (Books 2 & 3 of the Unexpected Trilogy). If you have any questions, feel free to message me on social media or via email: Authorjackiewalker@gmail.com. I’m happy to answer your specific inquiries so you can read this book without concern.
First off – this is not a “Dark Romance”. It’s still got the vibe you’d expect from a Jackie Walker novel. The content that is on this page is handled with the utmost of care and respect. It’s a spicy romantic suspense novel, so the “action” matches that vibe.
Okay, here are some common triggers that are included in the book.
- Main character is healing after abduction via date rape drugs (roofies), sexual assault, physical assault, and trafficking captivity. The abuse isn’t on-page, but both main characters must deal with the fallout from this trauma
- Neurodivergent main characters
- Anxiety, PTSD, monophobia (fear of being alone), and mild toxiphobia (fear of being drugged).
- One main character dealing with abuse/neglect as a child (nothing on-page)
- Hypersexuality following trauma
- Physical violence (on-page) not between the main characters
Additionally, there is one more “trigger” that is VERY SPOILERY. So I’m hiding it below in an expandable box. Sorry to be dramatic, but this is a huge spoiler. I’m sorry. (hides face behind hands)

There is an unexpected pregnancy in book 3, Unexpected Redemption. If you’d like to know more about that, message me or email me to discuss.
As always, I did my best to handle these topics with the utmost care out of concern for my readers. If you have any questions, I’m happy to discuss them with you. Email me at AuthorJackieWalker@gmail.com.
